Fanatec v3 Pedals: Brake performance kit, damper or both?

So, a question for anybody with the v3 pedals: I've recently installed the brake performance kit to my pedals, after only having the damper fitted since I bought them.
I've noticed that I've had to gradually reduce to amount of damping to get the feel right with the BPK. In actual fact, there is hardly any damping at all now, which poses the question: do I actually need the damper any more now that I have the BPK?
I've read some opinions that say when you buy the pedals buy the BPK at all costs, others say buy the damper kit instead, and some people say you need both..I've been playing with the settings now for a week, and am more confused than when I started :D
If I could remove the damper it'd help to get the pedals further forward in my rig, as the rig butts up against the wall, and the damper hangs over the rig itself with the pedals as far forward as I'd like them, and would destroy itself by boring a hole in the wall in the shortest time in that position. I hope everybody can imagine what I mean ;)

Some reviewers have pointed out that the damper kit is almost rendered useless once the performance kit is installed. I had the performance kit, no damper, and the feeling was improved greatly with it. It gives more of a progressive feel to the brake, while at the same time removing the 'notchy' feeling of the stock inserts that come with the V3 pedals. Overall it was an expensive upgrade for what came in the box but the overall feel was more than worth the investment. It's also half the cost of a single damper and you get to choose the type of feeling you want, too.

I have to agree with @anton_Chez. I don't personally own the damper kit, but a buddy of mine has it on his Fantec pedals and I personally don't like the feel to it. I have the brake performance kit and the feeling on the brake is much more preferred, it feels abit more natural (for me). But at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. What you can possibly do is move the damper kit to the gas pedal and add the brake performance kit.

When I owned these pedals, had both damper and brake performance kit installed at one point. Damper isn't needed, the brake performance kit basically kills off any benefit of the damper as the throw of the pedal brake is reduced significantly with brake performance kit and the stiffness increased. You basically can't feel the damper doing anything.

Out the two the brake performance kit is better if I we're compare them installed each by themselves. The brake performance kit improved braking control for me, and actually made the brake feel very close to the brake on my HE Pro pedals.

I noticed a big increase in feel from the performance kit, but I must say I noticed an even BIGGER difference when I moved to the HE Pro's. I couldn't believe the improvement even coming from the performance kit enhanced Fanatec brake. I remember being truly suprised when I took them for their first drive.

I didn't want to mention that the HE Pro's are still better, I agree though. I immediately felt the improved difference too.

I have the V3s and I was considering buying the performance kit, but the price is too high for just a piece of rubber. I think I will upgrade to the Heusinkveld Sprint pedals (only brake and throttle). The main advantage of these, in my opinion, is that I will be able to place them exactly where I want, so the comfort will be greatly improved.

I wouldn't think of the piece of rubber. I'd think of it as an easy, cost effective way of significantly improving the feel and function of the stock V3 brake pedal. How it achieves it is not comparable to the end result.

I'll never use it again after installing and trying the BPK. It costs € 79.95 new, and it's in mint condition, I still have the box too. PM me with a sensible offer if you're interested
