Fixing the Jaggies in VR?

Hey guys, just got an Oculus Rift S 2.weeks ago. Loving VR. But the VR with AC contains what I have heard called jaggies. Unclear lines. Picture is very clear inside cockpit, but nearby fencing and most lines at a distance are jagged looking. I have tried numerous suggestions to fix it including adjusting some things in graphics cfg file. It is driveable but it is bad enough to make me prefer AMS2 and IRacing in VR...which is a shame since I love AC. Appreciate any help

The jaggies are called aliasing, and what you need to solve them is antialiasing. Assuming you have sufficient resolution set in Steam VR with some amount of supersampling then setting MSAA 4x on will help as will turning on FXAA (with the cost of blurriness). Content Manager allows 8x MSAA and that really helps with the aliasing but its expensive to run and you need a top-end GPU to do it and compromise elsewhere. Personally I live with a bit of supersampling and MSAA 4x.

Man I'd totally forgotten 8x, thanks to your post I gave it a try tonight and decent improvement from 4x and still running 90fps benchmark with my Vive Pro.

Hey, sorry for reviving this thread. Did you found a definite fix? I've done so many tweaks to find the culprit, never managed to fix the flickering edges.

It’s also depends on the skills of the modder as some tracks are full of this kind of artifacts in VR, especially on overhead telephone lines, fences, flagpoles, while others have nearly non. Just try different tracks.
Why some of the (5star) can not, while other can, maybe that is because these car/track modders do not have VR.

Yeah, might be a good idea. With ALL these mods you sometimes forget to go to the basic stuff from KS. I usually test performance on TCR cars on Mugello so just have to swap the car next time. I’ll provide info on msaa 8x soon
