G27 Potentiometer Replacement

I'm having issues with throttle control, and have found out that my throttle is faulty. Under normal calibration, it spikes constantly at all times regardless of pedal position. Using the Bodnar calibration thing I've set deadzones to prevent spiking at min/max pedal range, but it obviously still spikes at anything in between.

So, looks like I need a new potentiometer, possibly three since I may as well do them all at the same time. Does anyone know where I can get like-for-like potentiometers for G27 pedals?

Hi Ross,
Have you tried cleaning them as genuine pots seem to be a bit rare,I believe Rupe Wilson has some used pedals in the Marketplace http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/g25-pedals-out-of-case.137994/ If you really need new you could try these chaps,they may be able to match some up for you. http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/passive-components/variable-resistors/potentiometers/?sra=p

Thanks for the reply Phil.

Someone sent me a handy cleaning guide the other day, which I tried out yesterday. It was actually quite simple as long as you're careful, and worked like a charm! No more spiking in my throttle, and it was immediately noticeable in-game.

I did the clean, it only fixes it temporarily. So is there no replacement for these?

Not that I have managed to find,If you have an Electronic spares shop locally they might be able to match some up,If not these guys have a bunch of used Individual pedals with a 90 day warranty if you are in Europe.They are based in France.

I believe they are a special potentiometer but they are available. I thought mine were going bad and picked up a set online but never had to use them, still have them somewhere I think.

My ten year old g25 just quit on me, the wheel went bad. The pedals, never a problem and I had removed the case/cover, the pot's were just sitting in the dirt/dog hair/dust environment that lives under my desk adn I had no problem!

Bought 5 or 6 from Digikey about 3 years ago. Think it was £25 delivered to UK... worked & still working great.

Yes that's them. You will need to snip off the three circular ends for the pedal connecting wires to fit but completely simple to do. 1 pot per pedal & I must of ordered 6 because I have 2 sets of G27 pedals.

Probably will be only a temporary repair. Maybe swap the clutch and throttle. I just gave up and bought a replacement.

It was indeed temporary. Had the same problem again and did what you mentioned, swapped the throttle for the clutch. Unfortunately a year on and in having the same issue again! It might be time to invest in some new hardware.

I ordered last year some of these: https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=CT3062-ND but i found out these are not good, because in default pedal state, when i am not pressing it, it shows that i pressed in some amount. Don't know why and i don't know what is the difference between the one you suggested in the forum and the one i had in this post. Can anyone tell me why should be the ones i have are wrong and why are the https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/450D103F7/450D103-6-ND/183274 ones are good? Or i need to fine tune these potentiometers with some software?

Maybe try recalibrating your pedals in the Logitech software? I've never replaced pots before, but my guess is to recalibrate em.

When I had G27 pedals, every couple weeks I had to clean them... As I had to keep taking them apart to clean them, I eventually broke something "by an accident" and got myself t3pa pros. But those needed cleaning after a couple years of use. The Pots on the t3pa pro's are nicely covered up "mostly." Theres a small hole feeding a wire from the "covered up pots" to the pedals. I figured this where the dirt and dust must be coming from, so I simply taped off that round hole with a small peice of electrical tape. I feel confident now that the pots are completed covered up, my pedals won't spike or "not fully depress in-game/software" anymore.

Hey all you g25, 27, and 29 or 920 owners check out this website they sell replacement potentiometer kits for our pedals they also have a few other mods for the pedals that I'm also trying out...will be arriving here today...took like 4 days to ship from Italy to the USA...will report back with my first impressions once I get them all installed

For anyone in Europe having this problem, Banzai music in Berlin have a huge selection of Pots and other electrical components. I use them for all kinds of stuff for my business as a luthier and guitar tech.
I think these: http://www.banzaimusic.com/Alpha-24-DS-10k-lin.html are the right ones. I compared the dimensions with the Pots in the link, and otherwise they look correct. 10K, Lin, D-shaft etc
Be sure to get lin pots, and not log, there is a huge difference: Log pots will not work correctly in pedals..
