Game start issue

Returning player from many years, new PC etc.

DL'd game, have codes etc from ISI, but desktop icon will not start game, config icon works, but desktop icon doesn't start the game. Any ideas?

I haven't used rfactor1 for years. I do remember though, you have to install it in the documents/mydocuments folder or it wont work. something to do with Windows 10 security.

OK, I have now found some progress

Have got a version of the game to work, but it goes CTD as soon as you try and load the track up.

I tried Lite and it just wont react if you clock the desktop exe.

Is this fact about not using it in Program Files a fact?

when you installed rfactor, did you install directx9c?

I installed what came up on screen dude? I have tried a few times now, one version worked, could do stuff, but could not load a track, it would CTD every time. Most versions just dont boot up? This is both Lite and normal
