Haven't played in 5 years. Help with CM / shaders / PPF, G27

Haven't had space for my playseat or wheel since 2016.

I just setup my G27 w/ LOGI profiler & launch from profiler w/ my fav settings.

It looks like I need to launch from CM to use / see the shader effects & I am just learning about PPF's (I use reshade & SweetFX for Mudrunner).

My 1st question = can G27 profiler settings be used in game if I launch from CM?

2nd = I assume that CM shaders be ignored if I launch from CM?

Sorry, this is hard to explain, but I assume I am not the first w/ these Q's?

Finally - please link to your fav PPF's and (hopefully) a post on how to use them!

PC BASICS:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
64GB DDR4 RAM
nVidia RTX-3070
OS Drive - M.2 SSD - WIN-10 PRO-64
Game Drive - 6 TB WD BLACK 7200rpm

I've installed CM, CSP, SOL (tried some presets, ran BM's, prefer default for now), installed some user created cars & that all works.

LOGI profiler settings work when I launch from profiler but not when AC is launched from CM... but it looks like I can use SOL inside the default game...

I'll keep putzing around...

These look interesting, but I'll need to read more about how to use them...

250 views later... still hoping for some tips on the mods I'm considering.

I still haven't tried these PPF's but they are still @ top of my list:
EXQUISITE
NATURAL
REALITY

I saw some ref to PURE need to find more info on that...

I got CM & SOL going thanks to this video:

170 people looked at this & didn't say a word?
Look at it this way. 170-250 people were willing to help but just didnt know how exactly. It can be quite frustrating to see a reply to a topic you made only to be told, "I dont know".

I guess I can help a little. My favorite PP is the plain ol SOL filter. Easy to setup also because you dont have to.

EDIT:
Another thing, its a little confusing as to what your issue actually is.

Thanks for the reply. I don't really have any issue, I just wanted some opinions.

I feel like a noob again man. BUTT - you're right - I wasn't clear to simply ask "...please link to your fav PPF's and (hopefully) how to use them!"

I listed 3 that I was considering & hoped for some input / opinions / videos.

I figured out CM, CSP, SOL, PPF's (saved my own tweak). I also figured out how to install the other, but I really don't want to co-mingle files, so I'll need to back up some folders & document what got overwritten & what exactly got copied to each folder so I can remove one & try another (they don't have install / uninstall.exe's)

I guess now I am just logging what I've done & where I am ATM & hoping that someone will chime in and tell me they tried X or Y and one or the other is good / better / best or bad for this or that reason.

Pretty much what you did - you tried SOL, you liked it & stopped there.

I appreciate the reply.

Maybe if I keep logging stuff, I'll be able to give the next guy an opinion or a resource / reference here of what PPF's I tried, what I liked & what I use.

Yea I mean ive tried to TON of other filters also and I just cant get the things to ever work properly. I think that might be due to my screen with its cheap panel. The colors just look bad.

Thats actually Assetto while I was incidentally, unsuccessfully trying a PP filter. See how the headlights arent showing lol.
-But that was the first time I had a real good race so I kept a pic.

LOL, I've basically been in storage for 5+ years... how long since you played GTL?

I just re-installed GTL + TOCA 2 + GTR2 + Power & Glory 3.2 final.

*I'm going retro racing this weekend!

I can't provide much help apart from:
All the pp filters look "good". It highly depends on your monitor, the monitor settings and you ambient lighting and ofc your personal taste as to which one you like the most.

I can only recommend to use CM+CSP (latest version).
Then I personally disable weather fx and lighting fx since I don't race at night.
Simplifies things a lot!

Then I personally disable seasonal adjustments under track adjustments.

What I love:
- Grass fx at high settings (no shadows and no extra fx pass)

- ffb tweaks with the new gyro and range compression at 150%

- extra fx activated, but only using taa and screen space lighting.
None of the ambient occlusion settings, not the reflection stuff!

Little hint: white setting = default ; red setting = you changed something
Right click - > reset works for every checkbox and slider!

For the AC graphics settings: set resolutions to one of the 3 highest settings but only 2 faces per frame. The csp reflections fx will make them super fluid.

I then set everything to the maximum but only 2x msaa, since taa is doing a perfect job.

I also disable fxaa!

Everything else is up to you, really :)

One last hint:
For me, the logitech profiles were always buggy. Sometimes they'd load, sometimes not. Sometimes they'd even change when alt+tab out of the game.
So I took some Screenshots and manually dialed everything in before starting each sim.
Most of the Sims simply use 900°, 100% overall gain and that's it.

If you'd like to try some custom anti-deadzone ffb, click on my name and go to mods/downloads.
I made some LUTs for Logitech wheels that basically just shape the minimum force slider into a smooth curve. They don't change the linearity of the ffb and have nothing to do with the lut generator.

One important note: you will probably need to fine tune the ffb gain for each car via numpad plus/minus.

And if you experience any fps drops, activate the new gui csp extention and then open the csp render stats app in while on track. It shows exactly what takes how much resources!

(apps are selected while on the track with the mouse against the right edge of your screen)
