Headsets...

Hi guys,

With the global pandemic I find myself taking calls on the work laptop in which I need to hear well and be heard, sometimes with kids in the background.
Other times I have a spare 20 minutes and want to use a headset on my gaming PC.

Does anyone out there have any recommendations for stereo headsets with mic which work well for gaming and also conference calls.
With this in mind, the headset should also not look like something out of Star Trek and also not lit up like a Xmas tree so I could also use it in the office.

This one should be pretty decent for the price
Something changed with that massdrop listing, if you can't get to it without account, here's the video covering this headset comparing to some others. And general advise, avoid no name Chinese stuff, stick with known and trusted names like Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Sony, big guys.

Sennheiser has other good headsets, check their EPOS series.

Ah, was going to ask as the link didn't go to a product but wanted me to sign up... weird.

Was actually looking at Sennheiser, they seem pretty solid. Cheers man.

(Headsets are almost always way too expensive for what they offer - many ridiculously so - and have bad mics - again, some shockingly so. Getting good headphones and adding a mic to them is generally a lot better.)

Thanks Martin, but I need one for work and not to look too out of place in the office... I already have a mic with phantom set up at home but WFH and WIO require a headset on a laptop with only 3 USB ports meaning with a keyboard and mouse I don't have the USB connectivity for a separate set of headphones and a Mic.

I can vouch for the Sennheiser pc37x posted up, been using them for over 2 years, they still work and look like new, great mic for being integrated, and are very comfortable for long sessions. Sound quality is really good as well, not for audiophiles but not far behind.

I've been using my Sennheiser GSP500 for Teams and Skype calls for a few months now - it hadn't been used for a long time since I now race exclusively in VR. It works great, the mic is actually really good and they are open backed which works better for calls i think - you can hear yourself speaking normally - closed back make you own voice sound weird to you.

I'm a really cheap guy, so I have a Asus TUF Gaming H3 headset. Works well, and I paid 60 bucks CAD for it. Aswell, the mic for the price is really good, but don't complain the mic is too short, ( i did) it works great if you want something cheap. Of course, you are free to invest much more, but great budget option.

Thank you @dapper_10 and @GagarynGaribaldi I'll check those out too.
Mic has to be good as it's for work mainly but with late night gaming also.

A lot of the guys at work have Jabra Evolve 65 headsets but some use Sony. They cost quite a bit but my office are giving us US$100 reimbursement due to WFH IT equipment. I'd have to fund the other half myself so trying to find something that I can use for work and play.
