Heusinkveld Ultimate Pedals not detected

I saw that Automobilista 2 was on sale so I thought I'd give it a try. I have a Fanatec podium DD1 with the podium button module endurance and a three pedal Heusinkveld Ultimate pedal set. The main issue is that the game does not detect the pedals. I've tried to assign the pedals under the edit assignments but that doesn't seem to work. I can see the pedals are working in Heusinkveld Smartcontrol plus they work with ACC, AC, Dirt Rally 2, GTL, GTR2, etc. Another anomaly that I'm not sure is relevant is that although the wheel is a DDI and there is a model selection for that in the control scheme menu, the steering is not recognized unless I select model CSW 2.5. I've tried calibrating the pedals in smartcontrol, unplugging/plugging back in. Saw an earlier thread on for steam controller settings to change but they no longer seem to be there. Thank you for any help.

I put the DD1 wheelbase mode in PC and was able to set up the wheel and pedals with the DD1 option. Now theres another weird issue that I've never seen before. Even though I can configure the shifter paddles, I cannot manually shift in the game. Any ideas here?

Try changing the mode in AMS2 from Fanatec DD1 to Custom wheel, then map the controls yourself. It usually solves a lot of issues (why they don't just get rid of the presets of they don't work properly is beyond me...).

Thanks Duncan I did try the custom wheel. After some fiddling everything seems to work - except for force feedback. Will look at that a bit more today. I know (hope) this is solvable but with the hassle I’m on the verge of requesting a refund.

All working now - following the advice of others, here's what I did. I basically followed the helpful video from Bottom Split Podium. I deleted my AMS2 folder from documents and started fresh with a custom wheel config. I was able to get AMS2 to recognize steer left/ right but then it did not recognize the pedals. Unplugged/plugged the pedals - still nothing. Rebooted the game and then it recognized the pedals and everything else. Set FFB as detailed in Bottom Split Podiums video and that is working also. Still seems a bit fiddly to me - we'll see if it all works the next time I boot up the game.

Glad you got it sorted. I love AMS2, especially with a custom FFB file from the Reiza forum, but the control mapping has been a real pain from day one.
