I'm pretty new to sim racing too. After looking around and playing with a few apps/mods I ended up using the following for now:
1. crew chief http://thecrewchief.org (this is amazing - saved my bacon several times)
2. car radar https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/car-radar.15743/
3. content manager https://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html - install mods/cars/tracks by dragging and dropping so you can remove/disable them if they cause a problem without doing a re-install

almost the same, except I have helicorsa instead of car-radar.
RSR livetiming is useful too, so you can vcheck where you are lap-time wise compared to others.
the attachment I've added is also great, tells you the perfect tyre pressures.
I've had the game a month, still haven't had the nerve to go online, though my RSR times are pretty decent.

I will at some point, but just learning the tracks and the cars in career mode first, really don't want to start racing and wreck everyone at T1 because I've not got the braking point.Come join the club racing here.
