Is there any possible way to resize the HUD elements ? I would like to make them smaller

Yes you can:
openvrsettings.xml(or one of the other xmls, depens if you have VR or not or oculus or a other HMD) I forgot where the XML file is located but I thought in documents/automobilista 2, if it's not the case then Google it or search for the file on your pc.

Change one of these numbers, according to what you want to change. Scale is for the size. But I also use offset by a large amount, I moved the hud items to the bottom of the visual area so that it's not all in your face all the time in VR. It's a mandatory tweak for me. Good luck.
