I'm starting to worry.

I'm starting to worry. There have been no big updates for a long time, for example, the historic Spa was supposed to be released two months ago. What happened?

It’s actually only been about two months since the 1993 version of Spa was released at the beginning of March. So not really a super long time IMO since the track team wrapped that project. Keep in mind that the 1970s historic version is quite likely much closer to a scratch-built track project than an adaptation of either version that’s currently within the game so patience is in order. Also keep in mind that there is a historic version of the Nürburgring in the works and it may also effectively be closer to a scratch-built project than an adaptation of the current Nordschleife.

Having said all that, it does feel like it’s been long enough that it would be nice if Reiza could just drop an acknowledgement that work is indeed continuing on these tracks and maybe clarify if one of them will be released before the other.

I understand this, but I'm worried about something else. Electronic Arts bought Codemasters and SMS, I really hope that this will not affect the development of AMS2, since Reiza uses the models and engine from PC2. But how will the EA's management decide? Reiza with AMS2 is not the biggest, but still a competitor for them.

Shouldn't affect them at all I think.

What? 1.1.4.0 was released 10 days ago, v1.1.3.5 was 4 weeks ago. How is two updates in 4 weeks a long enough time to start to worry?
Considering the introduction of the Brabham BT46B isn't considered a big update by the OP, I suppose his definition differs from ours.

Of all things to be worried about with AMS2 (and there are; ask anyone who's been waiting for multiplayer or a career mode), a 70's version of Spa, when another version dropped 2 months ago, seems to me like it should be further down the list.

There’s still the simple matter that there are two historic editions of tracks that were previously promised to paying customers some time back, and now there’s going to be three new previously unannounced tracks coming out before those other two.

I recall Renato’s words about how Reiza is sort of running in a “revenue-as-needed” manner. In this regard, I can understand why effort on new tracks has seemingly been allocated to the upcoming new content. I do think, however, think they eventually need to at least acknowledge the previously announced historic Spa and Nürburgring in some fashion. Otherwise it’s going to start creeping toward feelings that they’re not following through on their promises.

As for myself, I think it’s reasonable to give Reiza a good 4-6 weeks after the three new American tracks are released to see how things shake out for the track team on that effort and the others mentioned in the April development update. By that point, however, I do think it’s fair to say that Reiza owes the people that paid for the Spa and Nürburgring DLCs some sort of update on where things stand with the historic versions.

That's the kind of message I come on RaceDepartment to get. Clear-headed, rational, thoughtful, not bait. Thank you, BillGuy.
