Matchmaking

Hello guys,

Automobilista 2 seems promising, but what about matchmaking in the future?
IMO matchmaking is one of iRacing's success and certainely the case for ACC now.
Do you think such system will be implemented in AMS 2 ?

One of the problems with such a system is that if there isnt enough participation then the system is completely worthless.
Even in iRacing there is (at least when I was a member) ghosttown series where the system cannot help to make a reasonable match.:whistling:

Completely agree.
Every racing game should mandatory have such a system:thumbsup:
But Im just saying that if there isnt participation over a certain (rather high) level the system doesnt help much.
Hehe and people will probably just complain: I was promised that this sim had a functioning matchmaker system - but...:roflmao:

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: A lot of people does allready complain about Racerooms Ranked servers because of lousy participation.:whistling:

Because sim racing is a niche hobby, so it's hard for any regular sim to get the number of regular racers required for matchmaking to work effectively. I know people keep pointing towards iRacing, but the fact is that that sim charges a monthly fee which pays for all this "extra" stuff. Most other sims don't so they can't provide the same level of support. That's where communities like RD come in, to provide quality racing for all levels without having to worry about wreckers.

Sure but at least for the major series it's very cool to be able to find people to race with. For example in iRacing Skip Barber is always filled with full of racers

The important difference is just the numbers involved. The number of people playing AMS2 sadly seems to be dropping off recently with a peak of just 299 in the last week. Even after all these years, and with all of its loyal supporters, the original AM rarely gets more than 400 players - https://steamcharts.com/cmp/1066890,431600
