If you use different virtual desktops, when you use Ctrl H to hide the HUD, the first problem is that it hides de current desktop, not all desktops. I don't know if there's a way to really hide the HUD in all desktops at once. But the worst part is that when you unhide the HUD with the same hotkey, it seems that the different elements in your virtual desktops are displayed all in one desktop, all randomly rearranged, so using Ctrl U and Ctrl H ends up in a chaotic result. Have you tried this?
