not sure offing your mirrors is going to make much difference. you are already on low settings.
Think you need to look at your system specs, i.e your graphics card etc.
post them here then we can see them.

Nice game, when you disable the rear view mirrors the game looks like this:

Every single part of the chassis is depending on the rear view mirror material, if that ain't loaded, nothing is visible, lol.

I play on laptop. I know, they not are so good to game;].
MSi: Win7
1366x768
i5 3210m
GeForce GT635M 2GB ()
8GB ram
I try edit "hardware_settings_config" and change resolution to 1280x768. Now game is playable, and i drive 50% Australia race ;].
Benchmark show "min_fps="23.77" max_fps="32.85" avg_fps="27.12" min_fps_ms="42.06" max_fps_ms="30.44" avg_fps_ms="36.87"

I don't need awesome 60fps ;]. Now i can play and is good ;]

That's the main thing so long as your happy with it

One can change the scale for rear view mirrors in the hardware settings xml to 0.0
I have no idea if that affects the FPS but the mirror flickering would annoy me :D

I tried to remove all other rear view mirror options or set them to "false" or "none" but that didn't have any effect at all.
