Monaco. Sorry to post here, but felt appropriate

The F1 thread seemed a bit newsy so I hope you don't mind me asking here and figured I might find the best tips from fans of the best driving game...

I am travelling from Nice to Italy on the Thursday of the Monaco Grand Prix and was wondering what kind of exposure to the cars is available for someone casually passing by? Tickets are out of the question since we have to make about 100 miles into Italy that day but I would like to catch a morning practice from a best vantage point without too much hassle, Are there customs issues to Monte Carlo? Crowds? Parking? Even an eerie sound from the hills would be great since i can't just drive by with the radio on, being so close.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Hey dude, so you're coming from nice to go and see practice to MC ?
Your best call would be to park your car at Beausoleil around 9h if not beofre, and 5 minutes later, by walk, you're in front of the casino, then you can go down the avenue d'Ostende and you'll see the quai Albert 1er.

Don't know if you have acces to some tribune, last time I've seen F1 at MC, I was like 12 and it was free on Thursday !
