Moving cars on the Brands Screen

I'm sorry that I don't know the terms of art to describe a lot of what happens with AC. Please be patient.

In Assetto Corsa, there is a screen you get to by: Main Menu>Drive>Select Car>Select Brand

On that Select Brand page there are many icons showing the various Brand names of cars ... and also icons for things like "DRM Revival", "67 Legends", "Garage" and etc.

I would like to know how to move cars from one Brand icon into another. For instance, I might like to move a Lotus 49 out of "Classic Lotus" into "67 Legends" for example.

I think the process probably takes place in the AC files. I know how to get from: C:blab>blab>blab>assettocorsa>content>cars ... and in there are the car files. What do I do next?

As usual, I have questions:

1. Are there additional icons around or can I make my own? If so, how? I have a bunch of Trans Am type cars I'd like to organize.

2. There is also a small black&green booger of an icon on this screen, when I pass my cursor on it, the red tape at the bottom of the screen reads "unknown" ... but I selected that icon and found it was a Ford Capri 1300 somethingorother. How do I move this car into the FORD brand.

3. Will this screw things up and make my night an unending hell of renting garments and gnashing teeth?

It's in ui/ui_car.json, the "brand":"Alfa Romeo" line sets the brand and then AC takes badge.png from the first car it finds of each brand.

As with any text file you should probably make a backup if you're unsure, I think the worst that could happen is you'll make one the game can't read and then that car will display weird until you correct it.

If you have CM you can go to the content tab and edit the 'Brand' line directly, that should take care of json formatting for you.
