New Chipset

I couldn't afford a new computer just yet but I did find a new motherboard. I have been suspecting threading issues, mostly with AC and now have some proof that was the case.

My question is, what do these optimizes in CM really do?

I was disappointed when first trying my new chipset. Weird things like loosing frame rates when shutting down all my apps. I know! Dosen't sound right!!
How I fixed it was turning off most of CPU optimization in CM. GPU optimization seems to be ok! Now I'm going through everything one by one.
But why would these motherboards be running so different?
The old chipset is a ASUS Z97A and this new one is a MSI Z97A
i7 4790k, 16 gigs ram, 1080Ti STRIX
The only thing I changed is the motherboard.
These optimizations had no effect on frame rates with the ASUS.

There’s a brief explanation on each option. If that’s not enough, you can always ask Ilja...

And, I found out, the mobo is something that can't be tested very well?
Anyhow, things are working smoother now, more frame rates with these optimizations in CPU off.
Will continue to play around with it but I can say for sure that the old mobo didn't like AC for some reason.

Now that you mention it, I remember reading about the M2 taking up some GPU lanes! However, I am not using an M2 anymore. One of the problems with the other MB (ASUS) it burnt out 4 M2's over the years.

And as far as I know about motherboard and chipset are one.

Yes. At least I think yes? I got everything MSI Z97A had. It is working much better. And as I drive more cars I can definitely feel a better connection to the road. Racing with the AI is where I can feel the most difference. I can push them around and hold a line with them now.
At the worst the AI where visually out of sync with their physics and would hit me in the back. And if I tried raming them I would bounce off like I had no weight at all.

Also, this is something odd that is going on now. One of my original Hard drives, Corsair 500 solid state about five years old, has an over size problem when on track in AC. Everything is about twice the size!
I bought a cheap 500 SSD which works fine.
I guess it's time to pull it out?
