Old racing sims

Given the current lack of affordable GPU/CPU, I saw a few post from FPS folks who've resorted to using older games due to lower hardware requirements.
Do any of you folks play older simracing titles.
F1 2000
F1 Challenge
Grand Prix 3
Grand Prix 4
GTR2
Race07

I don't currently as I don't have the luxury of time unfortunately. I just want to load up, online if possible, which means for me currently it's ACC as I haven't taken the plunge on iRacing yet.
Then I'm on rF2 club races here at other times for a bit of organised fun as opposed to the random nature of online servers.
If I could ever earn enough money to support my family racing sims at home, I'd be doing all sorts of content with older sims and new, and creating leagues for them, especially as leagues out here in S. E. Asia seem to revolve around either Raceroom or iRacing as far as I've found so far.

GTR2 with the fantastic Anniversary Patch from @GTR233 and P & G mod.
Race 07 for the brilliant Super Touring mods from @AndreasFSC which allow me to remember the original Toca games replicating the BTCC from the nineties and his STCC one.
GTL not so much since P & G.
Although I play the modern games these hold a special place on my hard drive and some weeks get more use than the latest ones.

You could probably add Nascar 2003 and the GTP mod and GPL to the list of older games still worth playing today.

Then i need to ask....how to you get SCGT working on win 10? I just cant get mine to work, which is a shame. Quite a few old games that I miss, might have to get the old win XP disc out and make a dual boot!

Do you know what the exact issue is? Are you able to install it? Or do you struggle with it crashing/not launching properly?

For the install-issue it's due to no 16bit support on 64bit Windows. I guess game is so old that the installer is 16bit, so to get that you work you need to install and activate the 16bit support. This is only possible to do with the Pro-version of Win 10 though, not Home Edition.
The reason why I guess, is that I activated that 16bit support really early on my PC, so I honestly don't quite know if this is an issue with this game!

If you actually get to install it, there is the 3d renderer(GPU) issues. Sports Car GT, like many other old games, you'd need 3Dfx Voodoo or similar programs to get the game to actually work properly in regards to GPU (Same for Grand Prix 3).

But ye, with 16bit support installed, and 3Dfx Voodoo installed on my PC I basically can run any old game, except for the ones that has DRM, due to Windows disabling the DRM-check on CD/DVD's a couple of years ago, and no matter what I do, I cannot activate it again -.- It was disabled due it to being a significant security risk, so I'm sure there is a good reason there, still frustrating!

Thanks @Ole Marius Myrvold for the info, im only on win10 home, so looks like its a no-go for me without the 16bit support :( will keep a note of the info though, as im due to build a second PC once things calm down a bit on the price front:thumbsup:

I may have to build a retro PC at some point.
I have every old game and manual I've ever owned...going all the way back to the original Grand Prix.
It is amazing to see how far we've come in simracing.
I remember coming in from work and firing up that title.

Live For Speed is always good for a laugh to go skidding around. And of course, RBR.

To be honest it’s not just sims, Need For Speed Underground 2, WRC4 (the 2004 PS2 one) and so on are just timeless, they’ll always be great fun to play.

I'm sure if I could get up to my loft I'd be the same, I've even got a Fanatec PS2 wheel up there.
