overtake rule

Could tell me if it's allowed in racing :

Two cars are fighting at the last positions (#20 & #19) and the #1 of the race arrives behind them (+1 lap).
The car #20 let #1 overtake, then the car #19 do the same and immediatly car #20 follow #1 to take advantage of the opening to overtake #19.

It's not "fair" but is it allowed ?

For me, it is very much allowed. It's not something that I personally approve of, but people will and do take advantage of leaders lapping back markers. I really don't understand the mentallity behind this in club racing though. Club racing for me, is about fair play and camaraderie. There are no points at stake, so if I can't pass another racer by skill or capitalising on a mistake from my opponent, I'd prefer to take my hat off to the guy and just tell him "well done".
Takes all sorts though and if it's within the rules, then we have to accept it.

Thanks for your answer.

It happened in a 45min competition race of Assetto Corsa Competizione. There was a few CP points at stake to finish with the best place possible.

I agree with the club racing state of mind, but sometimes the point is to compete as close possible of a real race where the drivers would take advantage of any situation as long as they doesn't transgress the rules.

Here's the situation :

0:08 Audi let the blue leader pass then stay a bit away waiting for the blue leader to pass the other cars.

0:26 Green mercredes slows down a lot before the wide right corner.
Porsche stays behind to let the blue leader pass.
The leader overtakes followed by the Audi who just keeps his speed into the wide opening and overtakes both car too.
