Pad - Adjusting Speed Sensitivity

Hey guys,

I just downloaded Automobilista 2, and frankly, I was overjoyed to see that it does have a pad support that equals the one pCARS2 has - which means I can freely map the controls, as opposed to, say, Assetto Corsa. Not only that, but it drives even better than pCARS2, which for me (I know, not for many) was a joy to drive on pad.

However, I have one problem. PCARS2 allowed to adjust the "speed sensitivity". So, what is speed sensitivity? Normally, with a pad, the quicker one gets, the less steering lock is made available by the game. This is necessary, because it's not possible to be as precise with the sticks as with a wheel, so inputs have to be damped. However, if that dampening is set too high, the car will feel like a bus in slower corners.

That is the case with Automobilista 2. On slow corners, especially on tracks like Monaco and Adelaide, even Formula cars lack rotation.

In Project CARS 2, there was an option to lessen the dampening. In Automobilista 2, I'm unable to find such a thing, so it's basically impossible to drive quickly on circuits that have slow hairpins. Is that something that's planned to come during Early Access? Did I overlook something?

I know this isn't a pad forum, but I didn't know where else to ask such a question.

Thanks in advance.

Here's a video of the issue, a "hotlap" on Monaco. I tend to drift around slow corners, 'cause that's the fastest way around, but you can see the lack of steering lock especially at Casino, Loews and Rascasse.

I've got the same issue as well, there's a few topics on it in the Reiza forum too. Basically the steering lock range feels artificially narrow with a gamepad set as the control device. There's also still some dampening applied even with the setting to 0. I usually like a pretty linear steering input to make quick adjustments going into the corner, it works well with AC.

What helps so far is going into the car setup and maxing out the steering lock, then in control settings my steering sensitivity is 50, deadzone 0 and controller dampening 0. But it's not a permanent fix, hopefully they'll adjust the settings to be more like AMS1.

Another thing is sometimes the controller settings don't save. I've noticed if you adjust it with the arrow icons as opposed to clicking and dragging it with the mouse it will save the setting.

Thanks for your reply; adjusting steering lock does help (heard it already over at Reiza's forum), but it's certainly not perfect. At tracks like Adelaide, I'm still drifting around basically any corner. I'm not noticeably slower than the people with wheels, but it's insane torture on the tires to go into every hairpin like that.

Just hope that they'll fix this in the near future. It's, at the moment, probably the second most annoying thing about the game to me, with the multiplayer being the first one.
