Practicality of installing multiple copies of AC on the same partition?

To minimize the issue of online mismatch, similar to rFactor 1, I'd like to have multiple independent copies of AC on my partition.

I would like to be able to launch each installation when need be.

Is this is simple as duplicating the contents of the folder, and renaming the root folder? What about files in /My Documents ?

That's not possible with Steam games.
