Question regarding wider screen

Quick question.. if i go from a 1920x1080 screen to one that is 2560x1080, will i have a substantial decrease in FPS performance?
There are 33% more pixels, so will i see 33% less FPS?

fwiw my rig has an i5 9600k with an rtx2070, 16gb ram and my sims of choice are rf2 and acc/ac plus some dirt rally 2

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm running 5120x1080 on a 1070 with no problem. I couldn't tell you what fps i get though (don't pay much attention to numbers). Everything is set to at least high and all is smooth.

It depends on how the game engine scales with resolution and how the gpu architecture handles different resolutions.
A 2070 is definitely optimized for 2560x1440 so you'll probably only see about 10% fps loss.

But you can also easily test this. Just activate dynamic super resolution (dsr) in the Nvidia control panel (you have to activate it globally and all scaling factors (resolutions) manually.
It's not in the game specific profiles!

While doing so, check which resolutions have between 30-35% and then simply select that resolution in the game's options.

Should be something around 2218x1248 pixels.
Square root of 1.333 so each side multiplied by about 1.14.
You'll get your 33% resolution increase.

Just do this and you'll know how the performance will change!
