A message to all Drivers

RaceDepartment Club Racing Rules - Video Link

If you run off track, you must check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Do not just keep the throttle pinned and pull back on track.
On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

Always try to re-enter the track parallel to the racing line.

When joining the track from the pits, remain inside the white line and stay off the racing line until you are up to speed.

During qualification, do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by.

Golden Rule
  1. If you hit somebody, sending them off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in Discord. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

Penalties

A championship gives us the opportunity to deduct points or add time as a penalty. Below are the penalties for this championship. Please report these kind of incidents to the host. That will help to get even cleaner events. For multiple unsafe actions within a single reported incident, the time penalties and point deductions are cumulative.

  • Golden Rule: if you break the Golden Rule, all points will be deducted from that event. Normal procedure via formal report and internal discussion within RD staff if there's an disagreement.
  • Unsafe overtake/defending or dive bomb: 5/10/30 second penalties for each case.
  • Track Limits: 5/10/30 second penalties for gaining an advantage outside of tracks limits.
  • Ignoring blue flag: 2 points taken off for each case.
  • Dangerous Driving: 2+ points may be also deducted for any unsafe actions causing an incident (e.g. unsafe rejoin/unsafe pit exit/swerving on the straight etc.)
  • All reported incidents and penalties to be judged by host (Brian) and co-host (Han) via the usual PM system. Gentlemanly actions, or otherwise, after an incident may effect the final penalty awarded.

Just some input for whoever is interested:
I can highly recommend to put the wing to at least 3 if you're not battling for the podium.
I did 8 laps with wing at 2 and 8 laps with wing at 3.
Wing 3 were all within 0.5s, while 7 laps with wing at 2 were slower and one was faster. It was the only lap without a mistake or a crash.

With wing at 3 I am a lot safer and almost as fast. You can't gain enough on the straights in the ginetta here anyway so being able to safely push through the corners to get a better exit or go safely side by side under braking and into the corners is definitely preferable for me!

There's a setup with a 2 wing and for me at least it feels fairly stable. I feel like there's way too much understeer through the long right hander with 3 wing.

It's an early version of the setup but it feels pretty all right if someone wants to give it a go

Your front camber is default too, you reduced the rear camber though.

Dampers look like full default. The rear dampers are a bit softer in relation to the springs though, due to stiffening the rear springs.

Your rear height probably comes from that stiffening too (I didn't compare the height settings).
You got "arrowing" due to that with the front being stock 87-88mm but the rear 97 -> 109 :D

Hi rasmus. I can answer why now. The slightly stiffer rear and reduced camber mostly gave me better turn in. To me it feels sticky, like it has too much grip at the rear and it needed alot of aggressive movements and throttle to get it to rotate, costing time in slow corners and giving a less stable entry to the corner. Certainly a quick fix but it had no obvious side effects.

Enzo's comment on the front end make alot of sense now having spend some time at brands! It bottoms out pretty badly here. I stiffened the suspension all round and it seems to help. More spring energy now, so need to mess with the rebound up a click or two to slow the bounce.

By running the camber angle high you reduce the vertical strength of the shock and spring and change the direction of the rebound energy. Makes it more likely to bottom out. If the rear bottoms out with a full tank of fuel you're in big trouble!

I tried it tonight Joel. Knocked 1/2 second of my previous PB with it. So for me it worked very well thanks.

I need to learn more about setup :(

I agree, 3 feels a safer bet for the race. Pushing with 2 requires super concentration for me. Not sure about it for 40 laps..

Here is a reference lap using Joel's setup above. It is not the cleanest, could be better out of Surtees, a bit slidy through Westfield then almost too wide out of Stirling's. It is my current PB but one could argue a few breaches of track limits in places albeit by inches.

Nice lap Tim. Westfield is a hail mary for me on any fast lap! Very hard to be smooth through there!

I'm going to have to miss tonight's race, I ended up driving two cars in this weekend's Nurburgring 24h race in iRacing and I'm exhausted now.
:)
Hole they payed you well to sit in their rig ;)
Can’t make it either.
But my excuse is not as good as Enzo’s
No worries Taj. See you on the next one.
I helped my best buddy moving apertments over the weekend, just came home and only my Flowgun (massage pistol) is getting me able to race :roflmao:
But I'm prepared and really looking forward to throw this car around with you not all :)
Nice one. Use the force.
I've got tonsillitis and the world has decided to spin a bit, so may or may not make it depending on how bad things are come race time. Hope to be there though.
Hope you feel better Chris

Andre is man down also. I have a sniffle :) All to play for in this one!
