I feel sorry for new builders. My advice? Build the hardware and use another interface / software. Don't waste your time. Coming from a first wave builder / subsequent sponsor and finally seller of the system to another user.

That's exactly what I mean. If you do some reading around you will find the info you need. There are plenty of people who have done the same thing. If at some stage the development or at least the support and acknowledgement of new builders returns to SimFeedback, then I would encourage people to at least try that first before exploring other options. But as it stands now, don't even bother.

Just get the Thanos AMC controller. Very nice piece of hardware with many great features. It also let you use other motion software. I mainly use SRS, and some times Simtools as well. Also lots of helpful information and friendly people on their Discord.

Just been looking and stumbled across https://scuderiart.com/blogs/news/srtmotion4u

This seems to be ready to go, but I guess building sfx with the Thanos controller will be cheaper than that turn key one, I have a 3d printer already, so I just need the parts from sfx shopping list and then hook it all up.

..or is the above link comparable price...I should probably price it all up and answer my own question

Edit, have to revise this as the eracing labs is not us $2k, the figure I took from basic eracinglabs cost. it is $2350 including the thanos. So given the SRT has a cabinet they are very similar in cost.

As they all have the same software options, they are the same controllers, servos etc there are just slight variations on the looks. They will both perform the same.

The SRT does however have all the electronics in a cabinet so thats worth something. A con would be it comes with the 4 actuator thanos controller where the eracing comes with 7 if you want to add something laterllike surge/tl or a seatbelt later.

One is in China, another in europe so shipping could be a big factor as well depending where you live.

Personally I would be happy going with either depending which made sense pricewise for tax/shipping etc. (caveat for me, I would be using 5 ports on a thanos not 4 so the SRT would be an issue for me personally. but if you dont need that...)

For me the key difference for me was SRT is 3D printed, and eRacing is full aluminium. Probably little difference on performance but it's good to have it in full metal without any plastic when I'm paying this price range. Also I learnt from other member that the full aluminium body helps to eliminate EMI issue (something to do with grounding.. etc).

Edit:
"As they all have the same software options"

I remember reading somewhere that the srtmotion4u can only be used with Simracing studio software.

OK, if one is 3d printed I too would go for the aluminium one.

I did check on the software and it does say ready to use out of the box with SRS but open SDK to be used by any other platform. I dont know if other platforms do but they could like the other thanos boards.

With the information about the 3d printed parts and that it may currently only run with SRS I would drop the $$ on the eracing too.
