I'm totally new to rfactor, just downloaded it to play on my local track Bedford Autodrome.
I've watched videos and they say put the rFcmp file into the packages folder, but every track I download it doesn't have that file i.e. https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/brands-hatch.138176/
What am I missing please?

. In original post you linked to an rF1 track. This will not work in rF2 becase rF1 didn't use package system. So short answer is, rF1 tracks only work in rF1 and rF2 tracks only work in rF2.
