Suggestion to improve track limits checking

If at any point in time during my off-track excursion in the last sector the rear of my car is ahead of the front of my car, it is pretty safe to say I have not gained an advantage with my off-track excursion and therefore there is no need to invalidate my NEXT lap as a result.

Humans know that but a computer can't for sure. The reason is that they don't want you going off track, lining up the start-finish straight and then using that to get a really good/cheat exit on the final corner and make lots of time like that.

I guess they could add some logic which looks at your relative time from the finish line to some point near the end of the start-finish straight and only invalidate the lap if its more than a certain threshold faster than all other 100% valid laps.

Its there to help with their RSR-like system when finally implemented and I'm sure they just don't want people looking to exploit it. I'm sure they will improve this somewhat in the future. Lots of track limits for example are still a little iffy and if you ride some kerbs in slow corners very aggressively they count it as a cut. Fine tuning all of this and hearing people's complains is what an EA period is all about.

I'm 100% sure you can tell that a car was going backwards.. Why else do so many games say "Wrong way". That would at least go some way to alleviating some of this intrusive stuff. Besides, I am in practice mode. Why doesn't the race director take the day off.

Well it also depends on how long you were driving backwards (detection takes a little distance) but I hear you. Definitely something that can be improved, and something I am sure will be improved.

Well to be fair, it was more annoying when the warning sat right in front of my nose in VR (cross eyed), however, I have since modified its position for comfort and its less of a problem. I can understand last corner, but entire previous sector? Sometimes I wish instead of "Game of the Year" editions, someone would release a "Single Player only" edition so I can select whatever I want to be activated or not activated (like this anti cheat stuff) in game and actually get some decent AI for once.

Even if things remain as they are, there is a small concern with timing info that should possibly be considered by Reiza.

Lap A - Off in S3 invalidating that lap & complete next lap
Lap B - Uneventful, but invalidated as informed
Lap C - Also uneventful

When you’re on “lap C” you don’t get differential time displays for S1 and S2 but you do get the differential time update for the entirety of lap C when you complete it. Maybe I'm overlooking something but this behavior doesn’t make much sense to me.

Just turn off Flags and Rules I believe it is called. Then you can concentrate on practice rounds.

That does not have any impact on these warnings. They still appear. That was the first thing I tried. But, like I say, its less of an issue now the warning is not straining my eye balls anymore so my patience in having these improved over time has been restored :)
