Too 'hard' defending?

Yeah I saw that a few days ago and was pretty shocked by it. When you see the onboard of Magnussen, you can see he looks in his mirrors, knows Gasly is there and then turns.
As the stewards say it was completely unnecessary and I'm surprised it didn't result in a big accident. K-Mag said he apologised to Gasly at least this time rather than a '**** my **** honey!' style response like he gave Hulkenburg last year
Magnussen and Verstappen (to a slightly lesser extent) are too aggressive, and hopefully they will learn, but they have both had multiple seasons in F1 so should know better by now. Hopefully 1 or both will get a race ban at some point and it might teach them a lesson. To finish first, first you must finish, as the great Ron Dennis used to say.

I never even saw this incident during the live broadcast but I too, believe it was over the top.
Based on his direction of travel and the road vector, there is no possible other reason he would have taken that line... unless it was an intentional block.
It was a very, very stupid move and not the thing to do...especially at this track, with its closely positioned walls, catch fences and lack of runoff.
This could have ended very badly for them...as well as possible spectators.

An other genius!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Presumably (based on other posts by you) that this non-response is because I dared to question the great Max. I don't have anything against Max - he is a fast driver, and has the potential to be one of the best, but he is making too many mistakes at the moment, and has done in the past as well and needs to grow up a bit. I generally support the fastest drivers, but he doesn't appear outwardly to be learning from his mistakes as he keeps making similar ones, hopefully this will change after Baku (which I rated them both equally to blame by the way).
I'm not saying that other drivers have not had this issue before, Vettel needed to grow up a bit from last year as well (which he seems to have done so far) with his red mist episodes. I didn't have the intention of making this another thread about Verstappen, this one was about the K-Mag & Gasly incident, I was merely suggesting that they both have made a few errors recently and in the past and need to learn from them.

I am wondering, do you disagree with my whole earlier comment or just the Max part, or are you saying it's ok for drivers in the top category of motorsport to intentionally ram into each other at 300kph+ (I'm specifically referring to K-Mag here just to be clear)?
