Too many USBs giving me issues please help

So I recently got VR but my PC can not handle it when my OSW Pedals VR headset/sensor, mouse, and keyboard are all plugged in, my PC will chose the components that are taking most power and disabled them.

Does anyone know a fix for this please? Thanks

HI i had the same problem but fixed by using a 4 port powered 3.0 USB hub made by ORICO purchased from Amazon and plug my mouse. keyboard. and HE sq shifter in to the hub..problem fixed ...make sure you get a POWERED hub;) PS 1 port is needed to connect from hub to the PC so you really only can use 3 ports.. ORICO also have 7 port hubs

Hi thank you, I thought this might be the case so I ordered:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HJZEA2S/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item

Would that be sufficient enough?

Some PC's struggle with USB connections more than others but, a good powered USB-hub can certainly solve issues in many cases.

Certain hardware can demand high throughput via the USB bus and VR is one such system; Direct-drive wheels can also place increased demands on the bus so having those two things connected to separate root-hubs may help.

You may want to try disabling the USB-device Power-Saving mode if the issues persist.

Hi can you check the link I sent and tell me if that item will solve the issue please?
When I disabled power saving the PC will shut down when I overload it with USBS

I'm not sure but, I think I read it will work. The Inatek one should work also and has a lower price but, be sure it has the internal power cable with it.

Worth it in the end tho?
Some of the cheaper mid-range PSU's are overrated in terms of their duty-cycle and output so buying a good quality PSU sized with some headroom to spare is a good idea, imo but, you don't need a 1000 watt PSU unless you are using multiple power-hungry GPU's.

Most people probably are not going to have serious USB issues just by adding VR but, certain Mobo's are prone to USB conflicts or throughput issues, even without VR. I had a Z87 based board that gave me all sorts of USB problems for years while my Z270 does not.

Certain USB / chipsets are known to have issues with USB-connections running VR. Consult the VR-HMD manufacturer specs and recommended hardware for details but, there are generally some work-arounds available - such as the add-on USB cards.

Your USB controller on the motherboard might be going down. It's a separate component that manages all USB ports. I had a motherboard where some components would stop working. Get a good powered USB2!! hub. Dont'get a USB3 hub, it still gives a lot of errors on USB2 devices.

I have a good USB 3 hub, and it does amazingly well, but I ensure that I have it plugged into a USB 3 port. Too many extensions can cause issues as there is a maximum length, but I swear by my USB 3 hub

I think it pays to spend a bit extra for a better external hub (USB3.0). Mine (iHarbort HIO-series) has performed flawlessly with all my sim-gear attached but, the msi Z270 mobo handles USB very nicely, in general.
