When I open up CM and launch AC, it takes over my keyboard lighting and turns it off then I can't see my keys when typing.

What kind of keyboard is it? The Logitech G-Hub keyboards have an Assetto Corsa profile predefined which you can disable to stop the lighting effects, for example. Don't know about others.
Yes it is a Logitech Ghub but I've never really messed with it. Thanks I'll have a look
