What is good programme for mods?

Good evening, I am downloading Assetto again having got myself a new gaming pc. I will have to do all mods again so the question is....... what is the best programme for converting the mods that come in rar or zip files?

many thanks in advance
Baz

I used content manager on my previous pc but used a separate programme to download mods. Can I use content manager to download mods? I used to download mods from race department and use a separate tool to convert and then drop into folders within assetto corsa on pc. If you can download mods on content manager is it a simple process? I’m not too clever with technical stuff

many thanks in advance
Baz

You can download the mods from racedepartment or where ever with your browser like normal, then drag the zip or rar file straight into Content Manager. No need to unpack.

This ^^^^.

Drag the zip/rar/7z file into the top section of content manager, you'll see a yellow download indication in the top menu, click on that and it will unpack the file from there once you confirm.

As I have stated above I am hopeless with technical stuff. is it possible for someone to provide an IDIOTS guide to installing mods to content manager please?

Can someone also please post a link to content manager please?

Many thanks in advance

Download a mod and simply drag it onto the Content Manager window

Just be a bit careful about using content manager for mods. It works perfectly well with tracks and cars and will happily install them. But I tracked down my issue with some other mods (Cambar Extravaganza, protyres and many others) that the Content Manager installer wasn't copying the .py files, so they need to be installed another way. Just be aware it has a problem and is pretty much abandonware as far as I can tell as the bug is reported and not fixed for months now.

I'd hardly say it's abandonware because one issue isn't sorted.

The application hasn't been updated for a year and one of its major functions is known not to work and while I might have independently determined why others have had the issue over that time and reported it. It is abandonware now, doesn't mean it's not still useful but don't expect updates to fix the problem.

As stated the last update was recently. And what major function? Mod installation? That's a handy feature that works for cars and tracks but it's well known that it's not intended for a lot of apps. Also its not one of its major functions at all.

Just tried with latest ContentManager, this install bug with anything other than cars ot tracks is now partly fixed.

After install you get this:

But I still couldn't find the app for activation, I had to restart CM, then its also listed here:

I guess this still counts as bug.
