What to do?

I've come into a little money thanks for a great-aunt, not a huge amount but enough to consider a few upgrades. I'm currently running the following setup and wondering where to go...

PC - Mid spec i5, Radeon RX580
Screen - 1 x XF720HU 1440p FreeSync Monitor
Wheel - Locitech G29

Now, I had an HTC Vive but sold it because the resolution and screen door effect bugged me. To be fair this was before I started getting the simracing bug but still, my feeling on VR is to perhaps wait until something higher res is available.

I'm basically wondering where to spend my money.

Fanatec wheel?
Triple FreeSync screens (I quite like the idea of freesync and it keeps the costs down over nvidia)? Would my PC run this setup though or would I need a Vega56?
Wait for VR resolution to improve / bite the bullet and get an HTC vive pro?

Can anyone offer any guidance? What would you do with a grand or so available to spend?

Thanks,

Lewis

Hi there Lewis,

In your situation you seem to have a very solid base, the G29 is a really solid choice and an i5 machine (though I am Nvidia myself) is a great base. Triple screens are great for immersion, but the RX580 may struggle, and a GTX 1070 (TI) would be a bit more safe. Therefore depending on budget, that may not be best if you have to buy screens and GPU. In terms of wheels, Fanatec kit is very good, but you'll want to make sure you have a solid rig to mount it to, in order to take advantage. If you don't have a rig already, and have the means that's where I'd start.
