You can spend thousands of dollars on sim racing hardware but that doesn’t make your rig unique. Everyone sets up their rig differently with a personal touch. If you need inspiration for your next sim racing rig take a look at these awesome do-it-yourself machines.
SIMPLE BUT PERFECT
Some sim racing rigs tend to look jammed with too many components attached. But in this case everything looks clean and perfectly organised, the cable management is well done and the triple monitor setup is simply inviting.
NOT EVERYONE IS AN ARTIST
While their is some cablke clutter visible, this setup still looks good, the owner even has additional wheels for all the different racing games the owner likes. Only the controller on the ground is abit confusing when you have such a nice set up.
IN FULL CONTROL
From a very basic setup to the ultimate beast. You could not fit more equipment on the table even if you tried. The owner even installed a surround-sound system. The only “downside” to this setup is how far away the outer two monitors are. Also not everybody likes to put in the time and effort to manage their cables, but this user should definitly try to hide some.
ALL YOU NEED IS SOUND
Another setup with anything you want. This driver even has a webcam and not only three monitors but also a virtual reality headset and a surround-sound system in place. Only the seat does not look very comfortable. But who said that racing must feel comfortable?
AS CLEAN AS IT GETS…
Here we go again, another clean-looking setup with everything you need. Although the triple monitor setup looks alright, the thick bezels might be annoying for some drivers. While other racers already showed multiple wheels, this setup has gear sticks.
OLD VERSUS NEW
While the rig itself doesn’t look too fancy even though the owner uses their virtual reality headset, the addition of an old-school arcade machine is simply awesome. The best thing is that the arcade machine is built for two players, so you can even bring along your best friend.
BUILD-IT-YOURSELF
This might be the first proper do-it-yourself installation. Instead of an off-the-shelf rig this user built his own wooden frame for this setup. The seat looks like an old car seat. There is only one monitor but this is something the owner can upgrade in the future.
THE STREAMER
Here we have the perfect setup for streaming your favourite racing games. Webcam and lights are all set up nicely, even a small Elgato StreamDeck is in arm’s reach. Not only was the rig itself important to the user, it also looks like they spared no expenses on their PC.
