LAMBORGHINI LM 002
The infamous “Rambo Lambo” is not the typical car you’d expect from the Italian manufacturer. The Lamborghini Military Model 002 is one hell of a massive car – so big that Pirelli had to design special tires for the off-roader. High society was fascinated by this car. Mike Tyson and Tina Turner were among the people who owned one. And, of course, Sylvester Stallone, who gave the car its well-known nickname. A tube steel frame combined with a V12 450-horsepower motor makes this vehicle an absolute monster that takes you through any terrain while still maintaining the elegance of a Lamborghini luxury car. Available in: Forza Motorsport 6 and 7; Forza Horizon 2, 3 and 4.
WILLYS MB JEEP
When political tensions started to build in the 1930s, the U.S. Army demanded automakers to produce a new car for their light armor division. The Willys MB Jeep stood out with a very low weight of 969kg and four-wheel drive, allowing it to overcome every obstacle and move quickly in different terrains. Dwight D. Eisenhower called this car "one of the the three decisive weapons the U.S. had during WW II." You can actually drive the jeep designed for military service in the Forza Series. Available in: Forza Motorsport 6 and 7; Forza Horizon 2,3 and 4.
SPEEDCAR XTREM
This crosskart may not be extremely big or war-proven, but it is extreme because of its versatility. Designed in the Spanish village of Gomés, the Speedcar Xtrem is a purpose-built racing buggy. The vehicle can compete both in rallycross and full off-road competitions. Thanks to its very light weight of only 312kg paired with a 750cc engine, the Speedcar Xtrem can be difficult to control at first. But once you have mastered driving it, this car is competitive in every race that includes off-road surfaces. Available in: DIRT 4, DIRT Rally 2.0
MERCEDES-BENZ G 63 AMG 6X6
From a small, nimble car we move on to another big boy. The Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 is the first playable vehicle in the Forza series to have more than four wheels. The extreme off-road variant off the G-Class has two axes at the rear, raising the vehicle height and allowing the 4-ton production car to fully use the six-wheel drive. Its five differentials can also be locked in three stages, making the car adaptable to different off-road scenarios, and giving extra corner stability. Available in: Forza Horizon 4
BIGFOOT 5
In 1975, Bob Chandler started to modify his Ford F-250 pickup with a four-wheel drive system and 48-inch tires. The car quickly became an attraction and today, the original Bigfoot is considered the first monster truck. Since then, monster trucks have evolved into a million-dollar business, but Bigfoot remains one of the most popular names in the scene. The original car spawned 21 successor models throughout the years, but the Bigfoot 5 from 1986 remains the most extreme. With its ten-foot-tall Firestone Tundra tires, the model once again became the ruler of the scene. It set the world record as the tallest, widest, and heaviest pickup truck in the world in the year of its fabrication. Available in: Monster Truck Madness; Bigfoot: Collision Course; Monster Truck Destruction.
LEGO SPEED CHAMPIONS MINI COOPER S RALLY
From an extremely tall car, we move on to an extremely small model. The LEGO Speed Champions Mini Cooper S Rally (on the left) is a fictional car based on the 1967 Mini Cooper S which won the 1967 edition of Rallye Monte Carlo. The extremely small rally car is featured in the Forza Horizon 4 LEGO Speed Champions expansion, where it comes with rally modifications and appropriate race livery. The 1270kg car features an all-wheel drive and a 1.6-liter turbo motor. The car thus has an extremely strong launch and acceleration and excellent handling. Available in: Forza Horizon 4
TOP GEAR TRACK-TOR
A farmer’s dream, and one for every off-road fan as well. The “Track-Tor” was featured in series 25 of the legendary TV show, Top Gear. With a top speed of 140 km/h (87 mph), it broke the record for the world’s fastest tractor in 2018. A Chevrolet V8 engine with an incredible force of 500 horsepower boosts the 54-inch rear tires. The tractor also has a twin-hydraulic handbrake which allows the vehicle to drift around corners. A truly unique and extreme agricultural machine. Available in: Forza Horizon 4.
LANCIA STRATOS RALLY CAR
When talking about rally cars, you can’t forget to mention the Lancia Stratos. Made in Italy in the 1970s, this vehicle was the first car to be solely constructed for rally racing. The car won three consecutive constructor rally world championships in 1974, 1975 and 1976. Sadly, the budget of Lancia was cut in 1977 by Fiat to favor the development of the Fiat 131 Abarth. But nevertheless, rally fans still consider the STRATOS to be one of the best rally cars ever built. In the short time that it was driven in competitive racing, it was extremely successful. Many versions of the car are available across various games in the DIRT, Gran Turismo and Forza franchises.
AMG TRANSPORT DYNAMICS M12S WARTHOG CST
This car might be familiar to fans of the Halo franchise since it is a variant of the M12 Warthog FAV from the game. The M12S Warthog MST is a fictional transport vehicle adaptation of its militaristic cousin, the M12 Force Application. Although the engine is slightly detuned compared to the military version, this car still has an impressive 720 horsepower at hand. Through its lighter vehicle body and an improved differential, it is also far nimbler than other similar vehicles. The feeling of the car is very similar to the Halo Series. You can race through different terrains at high speeds while still being able to steer very precisely. Available in: Forza Horizon 3 and 4.
THE TRUCKFORMER
Meet the final boss of our list of extreme off-road cars. It’s a monster truck. A huge monster truck. A huge monster truck which can change into many different forms. In Trucksformers 2 you have to find your way through a 2D course without taking too much damage. To overcome different obstacles, you must change the form of your Truckformer. One form has a giant saw blade at the front to clear the way no matter what is in its path. But there’s more!
