Forza Horizon 5 has already grabbed centre stage at Xbox’s Gamescom 2021 stream. Here are three other games we are hoping to see in the spotlight.

After Tuesday’s Xbox Gamescom 2021 stream which revealed quite a lot of new information regarding the upcoming Mexico-based open world driving game Forza Horizon 5, we got to thinking about which other games we would like to see at this year’s Gamescom event. There are plenty of upcoming racing games to be excited for, but we’ve narrowed it down to the three games we would most like to see at Gamescom 2021.
3 – Assetto Corsa 2/Assetto Corsa Mobile
Right off the bat we’re cheating our own list by including two games at number three, but this is because both of these games are interrelated. Digital Bros, the parent company of Assetto Corsa developers Kunos Simulazioni, revealed back in May that there are two Assetto Corsa titles currently being worked on – Assetto Corsa 2, and an Assetto Corsa mobile game.
ASSETTO CORSA 2 SET FOR 2024 RELEASE
Admittedly, Assetto Corsa 2 has an expected release year of 2024, so it’s unlikely we will be hearing too much about it at this year’s Gamescom. However, a little bit of information about the game’s philosophy would certainly be appreciated, now that the cat is out of the bag.
As for the Assetto Corsa mobile game, it is very likely that we will learn all about it at Gamescom. Not only is it slated to release on 31 August, right after the gaming convention, there is a spot in the Gamescom schedule specifically for Kunos Simulazioni and publisher 505 Games, which will no doubt involve a discussion of the mobile game. Perhaps it is here that we will be given a few whispers about Assetto Corsa 2!
2 – Hot Wheels Unleashed
This casual racing game based on the world-famous Hot Wheels brand is something that we here at OverTake are quite excited for. We’ve already given you a tour of our favourite cars that will appear in the game, but there are still some cars which are yet to be announced.
HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED: FIRST GAMEPLAY TRAILER REVEALED
In fact, while there is a fair amount of information and footage of the game already out there, we think a good length gameplay stream at Gamescom 2021 would be just the ticket to get players hyped for the release in late September. Given that this release date is fast approaching, it would certainly make sense for developer Milestone to set out their stall for Hot Wheels Unleashed at this year’s event.
1 – Gran Turismo 7
Here it is, the big one! I’m sure it will not come as a surprise to many people that we would love to see any scrap of information regarding Gran Turismo 7 at this year’s Gamescom. Since the initial trailer for the next game in Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo series was released way back in June of 2020, there hasn’t been a whole lot of information forthcoming about the game.
GRAN TURISMO 7 DELAYED UNTIL 2022
What we do know is that the release date is still rather loose, being simply given as some time in 2022 at the moment. Nevertheless, 2022 isn’t too far away, and the time has certainly come for more information and gameplay footage to be given to the fans! As such, Gran Turismo 7 is at the top of our Gamescom 2021 wishlist!
