Minecraft is a game with endless possibilities. Everyone knows about the huge projects players undertake to build entire cities within the game, as well as the incredible creativity people show with buildings of their own design. Here at OverTake, we’re all about racing. As such, we thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the best racing track builds in Minecraft.
5. Monza by Scurrminator
First on our list is YouTuber Scurrminator’s rendition of the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in the north of Italy. The temple of speed holds a special place in the hearts of many an F1 fan, and as such it’s important that any re-creation is accurate. That’s exactly what Scurrminator has managed. Trees, barriers, kerbs and grandstands have all been painstakingly created to make sure the Minecraft Monza can live up to the real deal!
4. Spa by MosquitoFRA
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is one of everybody’s favourite race tracks. The undulations and verdant forest setting make for a very appealing circuit, and its legendary corners like Eau Rouge and Pouhon as some of the most famous in the world. User MosquitoFRA on Planet Minecraft has gone to the trouble of building Spa in Minecraft – no mean feat when you consider the fact that this is the longest circuit on the F1 calendar!
3. Silverstone by AdamsApple and Build the Earth UK
Coming in at number three on our list of the coolest race tracks in Minecraft, we have this rendition of Silverstone courtesy of AdamsApple and Build the Earth UK. The build features a very accurate re-creation of the legendary British Grand Prix circuit, with some attention having been paid to the surrounding scenery, including the stands.
The best part of this track, though, is the fact that you can really race on it! Ice blocks make up the track surface, and players ‘drive’ using boats to zip around the circuit. Not only that, but there are even timing loops as well!
2. Racetrack v1.1 by Unlimited Craft
One of the first things to note about this track is that it’s not modelled precisely on any real world circuit. Instead, the oval and the infield section are entirely of Planet Minecraft user Unlimited Craft’s creation, though it certainly takes some inspiration from the world-famous Indianapolis Speedway.
This build, which was published back in 2013 and last updated in 2015, can boast incredible levels of detail. The visuals are very impressive, particularly when it comes to the stands and the other buildings surrounding the track.
1. Bahrain by /u/Gabzs_
Taking the top spot on out list of the coolest racing tracks in Minecraft is this incredible rendition of the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain by Reddit user /u/Gabzs_. As with Racetrack v1.1, the unbelievable attention to detail is what stands out most with this build. The track becomes fully lit up at night, just like the real thing, which looks incredible from afar.
The trees, floodlights, buildings and even the parking spaces have all been recreated from life into this Minecraft world, and the effect is astounding. One particularly satisfying detail is the field of F1 cars all lined up on the grid and raring to go. In fact, they are in the exact order of the starting grid for the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix!
