With the addition of the 2020 season in the new GT World Challenge Pack, Assetto Corsa Competitzione has introduced two new cars to its garage. There are now 24 different GT3 models in the game, from old classics to the most modern high-speed cars. This begs the question: which one is the fastest in a straight line? OverTake puts them all to the test!
The speed experiment
Our experiment is quite simple: we compare them on Paul Ricard’s long straight which is the fastest segment in the game. The cars are in the default aggressive setup in Hotlap mode to ensure a fair competition.
In an actual race, other factors would matter as well, of course. But this is a contest of raw strength and top speeds. Which one is going to win?
Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 LMS or an underdog?
ACC has steadily increased its car pool over the years. The GT3 models are especially popular, as they represent the pinnacle of racing with some of the fastest cars in existence. Therefore, the list of competitors includes some very popular models such as the Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 LMS, Porsche 911 GT3 R, Ferrari 488 and others.
To be fair, with top speeds of more than 270 kph (approx. 168 mph) all these machines are real beasts on the track. But as they say: there is always a bigger fish, and only one of them can be the biggest!
