Gtr2 and starforce

I have purchased a DVD version of GTR2 FIA GT RACING GAME which also includes GTL. There is a starforce code on the inside of the box. Am I correctly assuming that code is for the GTL install only and that the GTR2 is starforce free, so installing the GTR2 will be completely starforce free.

Using Windows 7.

I do see a free digital version download from steam for retail owners but it has some missing items.

Activate the games on Steam with you serial codes from the DVD version.
