Problem reinstalling Race 07 and GTR Evolution (DVD Version)

Hi - first post so be gentle with me! I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I've run into with GTR Evolution. I have the Race 07/GTR Evo DVD version and have installed the offline version as it appears to be more flexible towards modding etc. Last night the latest patch was released, so I installed the online version to have a look at any changes it brought, but I was unable to install GTR Evo unless I downloaded Race 07. I've installed online Evo before and Race 07 is automatically installed from the DVD. I've uninstalled Evo and Steam and cleared the registry entries, but the install process remains the same. I don't particularly want to download Race 07 when I already have it on DVD, so does anyone have any ideas on how to install Race 07 and Evo from the DVD? I've been looking around to see if anyone has the same problem, but to no avail. Thanks in advance guys.
