I seem to understand that in order to make this mod work, you need the Copa Marcas mod first. Am I understanding correctly? If so, where can I find that mod?

Copa Marcas is an original content from AMS1, it's already in the base game, no mods needed.
Just get the pack and install in AMS1 root folder.
