Types of Windows updates that require rebooting.

I'm a certified Windows PC tech as well as a Network tech, but I am unsure of the all the types of Windows patches that require rebooting to fully solidify itself onto the registry.

I know the following require rebooting:

-Service packs and security patches always

-A number of .NET Framework patches

-Installing a number of Microsoft applications (Not exactly updating, but, the updates for that app)

I'm unsure of the rest.

Pretty much anything that updates any of the system files requires a reboot in order to take effect. There are many that say they require a reboot, but you will see a difference even without it, but your system will be more stable if you reboot. Things like video and audio drivers will be of the type that will show the difference without a reboot, but still should get a reboot.
