Ok so anyone who has converted a mod from rfactor knows that some of the mods don't convert properly when it comes to the paint. You get an ugly flat paint with no gloss at all. Since my wheel is out of commission I had time to play around with files from different mods and I finally got all of my mods with nice shiny paint without affecting any of the original cars or already working mods. All you have to do is copy these files to your "shared" folder and overwrite when it asks. The 3 original files from the shared folder is included as well so you overwrite them too. I don't think every single file included in my zip is necessary but as far as I can tell they don't affect anything else so it doesn't hurt to keep them just in case a mod I haven't tested needs them. Try it and let me know if it works for you. As usual, you should back up your "shared" folder just in case. Heres an example of what im talking about
