Automobilista 2 features an enormous amount of content in its base version already, but even more exciting cars and tracks have been added via DLC later on. These have been split into several packs, which are even bundled in some instances, so sim racers can easily lose sight of what to get if they want specific content. As of January 2024, the list of DLC extends to 21 entries, with some of the packs overlapping with others on what they offer - the fact that some of the descriptions on Steam are a bit outdated does not help, either. So what to get?

If you want every bit of additional content, there are two new bundles that achieve just that. As of the release of v1.5.5.2 on January 20, the All-Inclusive bundles will allow players access to every piece of DLC released at the time of purchase at a 15% discount. This discount also applies to future DLC.

The "standard" All-Inclusive Bundle is aimed at new players or anyone who owns the Premium Expansion Pack or Premium Track Pack. Should you own these or any other items in the bundle already, your price will drop accordingly.

Similarly, the All-Inclusive Bundle for SP Owners is for those who already own the Season Pass. This bundle includes the Season Pass and every DLC that is not covered by it. If you own the Pass or any other items already, your price will also be reduced accordingly.

As both the Season Pass and All-Inclusive options pack a punch but are also priced accordingly, other packs or even individual DLC might make more sense for some sim racers. Also remember AMS2's convenient online feature that allows you to race even on tracks you do not own as long as the server host does.

I wish to like AMS2 but it seems to be something wrong with physics and handling... driving AMS2 cars feels weird for me... I feel a huge lack connection with the track -not enough grip, weightless car... I don't know...maybe it is some issue with madness engine

Alternatively, both current AMS2 owners and prospective ones have the option (for now) to consider becoming AMS2 Paddock Club members, available at the Reiza forums. Membership costs vary based on the following:

-- US$ 199.99 for new members who do not already own AMS2
-- US$ 169.99 for existing users who already own AMS2 Base Game
-- US$ 99.99 for existing users who already own AMS2 Base Game & All DLCs

Membership includes:

-- Automobilista 2 base game + all existing/future DLCs
-- Automobilista 2 Beta Steam key
-- Automobilista 1 Ultimate Edition Steam key including all DLCs
-- AMS2 Paddock Club subforum access & voting rights in development polls
-- "AMS2 Club Member" Badge in Forum User Profile

All previous 2015 Sim Racing Bonanza Campaign and 2019 AMS2 Early Backing Campaign members were automatically converted to Paddock Club members and have already secured every future AMS2 DLC at no additional cost. The Club has also provided additional simracers the chance to join the Beta development program, which is a substantial benefit in light of Reiza's work rate and content output. Overall, Reiza has provided excellent value, and with the V1.5 physics updates currently under development, the future of AMS2 has never looked better.

And have you tried the cars with the new 1.5 physics? This same old tired criticism is getting old especially from those who haven't played it in a very long time or give if 10 minutes and say well it doesn't feel exactly like (insert your favorite sim) so it must be bad.

When was the last time you tried it? The 1.4 update was a big improvement and the 1.5 update is even more so. For me, it is now as good, and in some cases better, than RF2 FFB, which I considered the gold standard. It helps if you are using the custom FFB ( very easy to set up ) as well.

On live as of now, only certain cars have the 1.5 physics. Give the formula junior and formula inter a try.

It definitely takes some time to get it feeling great. I was guilty of just trying for 10 mins then giving up, but now its my favourite game for road connection/FFB.

And btw, not feeling enough grip/weightless car sounds like an FFB/setup problem on your side. Even the usual fanboys of other sims don't say that about it ( more about it being a slide fest I think , which it was, but is much less so now ).

Not the first time I read this. I never had this problem as I'm on VR, but for flat screen users, there is a problem with the default settings for camera movement, those can cause a disconnect in feeling. You can give the settings on this video a shot, they have solved that lack of connection you mention for many other users:

I don't know what your wheel setup is like, but I can tell you with my Simagic Alpha Mini it feels great. I use the Default FFB and I use a profile I found on the Simagic Discord. Unlike what you describe, AMS2 feels really "tight" to me. I can feel when I have the tires loaded up and I'm at maximum grip. I did a race with P1 cars at Suzuka and I could feel when it was loaded up on the Dunlop Curve so I could go full throttle.

My primary need for FFB is to feel when the tires are at maximum load and then feel when I start to go into understeer and the wheel feels lighter. It took a little bit to dial everything in, but I definitely have that with AMS2 more than any other sim I run.

Only the higher tier of the Bonanza campaign backers will receive all future dlc.
I was a low or mid tier backer and didn't get any dlc's, just access to the beta/paddock form.

As someone who's still considering which DLC to buy in the Summer Sale and currently hasn't purchased any DLC yet, here's the numerical breakdown from this article...

Based on the Season Pass 2020-2022 (or in reality 2023):

Total amount of Tracks:
14 brand new tracks (or 15 IF the recently released Catalunya is included).
3 base content tracks have new historic variants.

Broken down, all 14 (or 15) new tracks are modern versions, with 8 of these tracks having historical versions (5 of which have multiple historical versions, totalling 15 historical iterations). In terms of Packs...

Modern Tracks: 5 in Premium Track Pack, 9 in Racing USA Full Expansion. Catalunya is an individual download & not included in a "Pack".

Historic Tracks: 3 in Historical Track Pack 1, 5 in Premium Track Pack.

As for cars...

Cars: 16 in total (6 in Brazilian Racing Legends Pack Pt.1, 7 in Racing USA Full Expansion, 3 In Supercars Pack Pt.1)


The pack with the most content is Racing USA Full Expansion by having 7 cars & 8 tracks. All other packs contain either tracks or cars (not both together).

I'll amend this post when I have clarification on Catalunya.

They all do the same just in different approaches. And there will always be people who prefer this or that which does not mean that this is the way to go for everyone.

It´s like the difference between Mercedes, Porsche and Ferrari... They are all just cars, but the Feedback is different by design.

This is also why I try not to mix cars/tracks between sims too much. I put in a lot of hours to ACC, so GT3s are always going to feel weird in other sims. In the same way, if you learn the Nordschleife in AMS2, you might have problems with slightly different visual cues in AC, for example.

Neither is wrong, but they are different, so it will feel weird/strange/unusual. This is especially true with different handling models. One sim may let me take the Schumacher S with no lift if I load up the tires properly, while another may have me in the grass on the right-hander because it didn't make the first left.

On one hand, I of course support the idea to "drive what you like." But I also want to challenge anyone who says that "this sim has <this> problem" without them really digging into it. Now maybe it isn't worth the payoff for that person to take the time to learn more about the sim. I just hate it when something is dismissed out of ignorance (i.e. - Jimmy Broadbent's review of AMS2 1.0).

Same, though in my case I know it has nothing to do with madness engine because AMS1 felt the same way to me. I don't find physics convincing enough.

I'm afraid not. I don't know how comparable they are, but there are a ton of guides for G29 wheels, so that should get you pretty close. There are also a ton of guides out there that explain how to set up FFB in AMS2. I recommend SimRacing 604's guide as he talks through what each slider does and how to ramp it all up.

FFB is so subjective that it's hard to give someone an answer, particularly when I'm unfamiliar with the wheel. But you should be able to get pretty close to feeling acceptable.

The F3 doesn't even have the new physics yet. Here is the list of cars with new physics.

Yep, i agree with you. The majoral problem with physics, probably is the madness engine. Project Cars 2 has the same issue.
 
It's got an enormous amount of content...

But an enormous amount of bugs still...

The physics have matured to the point that it feels as good as anything else on the market...

But it's just a hot lap simulator in it's current form...

MP is broken, either you go with the statistical nightmares of the p2p side or the ghost contact on the dedicated servers where the predictions are that bad that one car can be punted off the road and the other car suffers zero damage...

The track state isn't the same for everyone online, some will have a drying line with some corners completely dry from white line to white line whilst others have a soaked track...

And the single player side is not in too much better shape with the AI having different fuel, tyre and damage physics that have yet to be tuned to the player side physics for a believable race.. They can think around the player and a believable sprint race can be had with the damage off... But for longer races you are left wanting to turn the fuel use and tyre wear off as well...

There's a few other game breaking bugs like the set up bug that gives the car settings from outside of the params set in the physics files causing the car to drive terribly... And a force feedback/settings bug that requires a deletion of certain folders or a complete reinstall...

Content is great and all but this title is at risk of falling into the same niche as the predecessors on the Madness engine... Content rich but too filled with bugs for the average sim racer to enjoy it...

I really wish Reiza would just finish the season pass content and get bug fixing... Give AMS2 an MP experience that doesn't remind people of their time on dial up and fix these game breaking bugs...

They'd make far more money with a working title...
