The Australian company primarily known for sim racing cockpits will start rolling out its electronic equipment in 2024 – debuting at this week’s Sim Formula Europe event.

Following the production of sim racing and flight simulator cockpits and rigs, Trak Racer has entered the wider ecosystem with the announcement of a pedal set, handbrake and sequential shifter.

It was revealed in 2022 that the Australian outfit – with European outposts – would be creating a new line of products, followed by prototypes displayed at that year’s ADAC SimRacing Expo, we now have some details about the now production-ready versions.

All will be displayed at the free-to-attend Sim Formula Europe event later this week in Maastricht, Netherlands, alongside an as-yet-unveiled direct drive wheelbase. Pricing and availability are to be announced, and we hope to find out further details at the event.

Trak Racer TR3 Pedals​

Perhaps the most notable of the new products is the TR3 load cell pedals. A three-input set-up, it features a 200kg brake load cell, magnetic and contactless sensors for the accelerator and clutch and a claimed 16bit resolution on all axes. The height and angle of the pedal plate are adjustable, as is expected.

The set is said to be multi-platform compatible for PC sim racers and will arrive with hardware adjacent software to adjust brake sensitivity. This last point is key, software being a first for the business.

Trak Racer Sequential Shifter and Handbrake​

Also plugging into said software will be its first sequential shifter and handbrake.

Starting with the gear selector, which is entirely constructed from metal and uses a Hall effect sensor. The synchromesh gearbox with dog engagement box also features adjustable resistance parameters and is said to be as broad in its compatibility as the pedals.

The handbrake, meanwhile, is the second product to also use a 200kg load cell and 16bit resolution. Like the shifter, it’s an all-metal item. Stiffness can be adjusted with an accompanying polymer.

Further Information Soon​

As mentioned earlier, we expect to see these products up close very soon, alongside a new TR160S rig – depicted above, which will be available in blue or black – and the direct drive wheel base debut.

Could someone enlighten me what a:

"The synchromesh gearbox with dog engagement box"

is and how that works?
My sources find this two technologies mutually exclusive, but it´s been a while since I had my hands in the case of a dogbox transmission and I refrained from opening up a syncromesh :redface:

no way i'd trust a trak racer product
I have used many, and even if I have a more premium rig, some products are very well made and top premium quality, look at this, it fits the best pedals on the planet, far better than the simlab inverted mount, and it's the best inverted mount for me :

About the hardware, there is no reason they produce bad quality, I'm so disappointed by Heusinkveld magshifter and handbrake : with the same hand grip in plastic, a shame !!

it's nothing exclusive in this terminology, it is just a fancy way to referring to a normal non-racing gearbox found in most civilian manual cars.

Be interesting to see where this goes.

There other gear in my experience can be very hit and miss, I believe they just drop ship it from China so the quality control of components, provision of items, and delivery is all very random and without direct oversight by Trakracer.

Every order I made from trakracer was incomplete and required trips to the hardware store and some reconfiguring of components, drilling, cutting, forcing and sometimes complete substitution in order to assemble the item purchased.

My set up still contains items that don't match due to incorrect components being provided. The provided instructions were also incorrect, and conflicted with the video instructions they have on youtube.

I also received some items not related to my purchase, so I offered them on market place and was contacted by a number of people quite local that had those same items missing from their orders.

Still has to be better then Fanatec though, at least the gear should turn up within 3 or 4 months and they might reply to an email.
 
Trak Racer distribute VNM gear in the UK and I emailed them a week ago to enquire about stock ETA, the pedals and it accessories specifically but they never replied so if they don't want my money sod them

Ouch that's a huge advertisement sign in your room! They should have given that to you for free with such a bold font TRAK RACER all over it. Maybe it's functional but it looks definitely terrible.

What makes it terrible? Wish I could afford that pedal setup. Looks perfect in functionality.

I'm not talking about the garage and the pedals. Of course it are amazing pedals and it's nice to have a garage.

My comment was solely about the pictures that he posed of the "sim racing frame". The letters on it: TRAK RACER are massive/ugly in bold. I hate huge brand letters on any kind of product. IMO that advertisement on something that you pay serious money for is ugly and unwanted, I wouldn't buy it solely because of that, no matter how good the product is. I like to see brands subtle, a product shouldn't be an advertising sign.
