Rennsport To Add Another AC Track Soon?

After the implementation of the Orchard Road Street Circuit in late 2023, Rennsport looks set to add another track already available as an Assetto Corsa mod. A Tweet hints at Magarigawa Club coming to the sim.

Despite its initial esports focus, Rennsport also showed a tendency to include unique tracks relatively early on - such as the Goodwood Hillclimb or the figure 8 meme track in summer of 2023. More recently, the fictional Orchard Road Street Circuit set in Singapore - a community-created track - had been added to the sim in December. Originally, the circuit is an Assetto Corsa mod, which was then brought to Rennsport with the help of original creators @legionofracers.

Now, Rennsport reposted a Tweet about the Magarigawa Club circuit in Japan, using emojis to hint at the track possibly being added. Interestingly, the original Tweet is from late March - so Rennsport is not exactly adding to a hot conversation currently taking place.


In case you are wondering about the track and have never heard of it, do not worry - it has only been opened in 2023 and is, as the name suggests, purely a club circuit. Designed by Tilke Engineers & Architects who also created several F1 tracks, the circuit is located to the Southeast of Tokio, with its layout being far from a typical 'Tilkedrome'.

Japanese Mini Nordschleife​

In fact, it has been dubbed a 'Mini Nordschleife' in the media when it opened. But rather than an Eifel-lookalike, the tracks surroundings look more like something straight out of the Gran Turismo games: Nestled into a natural valley, there are lots of steep hillsides, woods and, of course, elevation changes galore. The track features both fast and medium-speed technical sections.

It is part of the namesake Magarigawa Club and allows members to take their favorite track day toys to the circuit. Naturally, this makes it a rather exclusive affair - at least in real life. In the virtual space, you can try it already.

In Assetto Corsa, that is. Magarigawa is available as a mod here on OverTake. The track found in our download section actually comes from the club itself, having been used for construction simulation according to the uploaders. Hence, it does come with interesting features such as the track's indoor pitlane or access roads that let you explore more of the club.

The AC version of the track is quite resource-heavy due to the large number of trackside objects and dense vegetation - it will be interesting to see how this translates to Rennsport, as the sim is not exactly known for being the most hardware-friendly title out there.

Of course, that is if they do indeed base their version of Magarigawa Club off of that available for Assetto Corsa - but with the mod version for the latter being created by the actual club itself, it would make sense to go down that route.

As a rule I tend to just write off anything with Tilke in the description... Istanbul is the one exception to the general rule that is his tracks are boring...

This one could be fun with the right cars... Might be a good FWD touring car circuit... Would need a good reason to test it out... Like a league hosting a race there...

What about Sepang? I find that to be another exception to the rule.
 
Is Rennsport going to be mod friendly? Or is just Rennsport that will able to add AC mod to their game?
Is it going to be just tracks, or cars to?

What about Sepang? I find that to be another exception to the rule.

Sepang is one of those better as a MotoGP track than an F1 circuit... Still not a fan though... Don't really enjoy driving most of the lap there...

I always forget about that one, strange that his best work doesn't get used for any top level real racing... Similar to Istanbul there...
What is the attraction with Rennsport?

They've marketed themselves successfully to me by trying to paint a picture of "We are going to fill the holes that the other devs cannot and we are doing it from the MP and physics side first" because not one sim offers everything that sim racers want...

- Sophisticated physics base
- Physics features that have been missing in titles from the last 5 years
- Racing features that have been missing in titles from the last 5 years
- Eye candy graphics
- Great sounds
- Easy modding
- Easy skinning and uploading (png files can be worked on by anyone without photoshop or gimp)
- Ranked scheduled racing online
- All the things that SP only players want

Plus more has been mentioned... I'm still on the fence depending on what pricing structure they go for in the end, but they do keep saying we will own what we buy, so it's not going to be a rental situation...

If they achieve their goal is another story... But compared to other attempts of merging the pmotor with a shiny graphics engine this is going really well so far... It might be slow for some people, but I'd rather they got it right then produce another madness engine level of physics mess...
 
If this is the AC mod, but with updated visuals and less crashing, I'd be tempted to try the beta again.
 
With AC I get VR, TrackIR, tactile feedback, motion, decent FFB, AI, packed online-servers, all car-classes ever built and good performing graphics. With Rennsport I get nothing other than a lackluster FFB so far...
 
I tried the Rennsport beta tonight, certainly no visual feast, the audio on the 911 was average at best while the FFB does have rF2 feel to road surface and detail there was something just a little strange about the rotation of the car mid-corner - looked as though the Porsche was rotating alot under power, so I backed off but in fact not at the limit so could stay on the power...just not exactly right. Followed up with 911 at two same tracks in ACC and much prefer the visuals and handling in ACC.
