Formula One in 2023 is away with three races down and the little matter of 20 still to go. Now that the yearly routine has begun and fans are ever more excited for each weekend's racing, attention turns to the official F1 game.

We are yet to hear any concrete information on the upcoming title dubbed F1 23 despite being just two months from the anniversary of last year's game release. Whilst not true information on the game itself, Codemasters and EA Sports did announce last night that the upcoming release would be getting a closed beta.

Applications for this public closed beta are now open and close on Friday 21 April. If you want to take part in this wide-scale test, show your interest by signing up to the EA Playtesting program. Sign up to the scheme with an EA account and select the F1 game program.

A good sign for F1 23?

Last year's official Formula One game, F1 22 released with several bugs, glitches and issues. Whilst this was the first time EA had overseen the development of an F1 game for some time, one wouldn't expect such a buggy launch for one of the largest games studios in the world. Clearly looking to right past wrongs, it's good to see that EA is setting up all the tools needed to make the 2023 game more of a success.

Will you be participating in the F1 23 Closed Beta? How excited are you for the next Formula One game?

Hard to believe how people defend unpredictable physics and cars that take ages to change direction. True, I have never driven an F1 car, but I struggle to believe that a real F1 is as lazy to turn as Codemasters portrays it. And no, it isn’t a dig against Codemasters, because I love their Dirt Rally series.
I really want to like the F1 games, but every year I’m disappointed.

You had to use unrealistic camber and caster settings in the previous games, even super low wings settings in the much older ones, just to make the cars turn. I don't know how the ultimate games are, but you try to use almost max negative camber and caster (it is possible that one or the other works with reverse value, positive values being negatives in regular settings). I know that in the older games I had the same issue than you and found these information and they litterally changed the games as the cars could turn and be faster. For sure, I haven't played the last 3 games so I may be wrong.
