'Twas the Racing Sim Before Christmas

Twas the Racing Sim Before Christmas.jpg
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through my nest,
Not a sim was playing, not even Wreckfest;
The wheelbases were all left turned off and bare,
In hopes that a new wheel soon would be there.

It's probably time to retire to my bed,
But ideas for setup tweaks are dancing in my head;
As mamma looks at statements, her finger does tap,
You reminder her it came out of a bonus; “I promise, no cap”;

From force feedback clipping, there arose such a clatter,
I hit the Escape key, to see what was the matter.
Into the settings, my cursor flew like a flash,
I would get a DD, if I only had the cash.

I mapped ECU buttons, to change on the go,
What that actually does, I only pretend to know,
When, what to my sim racing eyes should appear,
A heavy square box, but what type is not yet clear,

A new Simucube wheel sure would be slick,
Or a DD2 base, those things are sick.
But my expectations will still need to be tame,
Because my gift might actually be something lame;

With new gear across the finish line I would fly,
Up high on my podium, to the rookies I'd say bye,
I'd feel so cool, with gear shiny and new,
Come to think of it, I might need racing gloves too.

Thinking of tin tops, yes cars with a roof
I can't focus on dinner, my attention is aloof.
Dreaming of my RSR driving round and round,
There is nothing better, than that sweet Porsche sound.

A nice racing boot would look nice on this foot,
But if none are coming, then my socks will stay put;
On Boxing Day, the Nordschleife I'll attack,
Using cars I bought, in a DLC pack.

Driving a stickshift will someday be merry,
But learning to blipshift sure can be scary!
What's the best looking sim car, I do not know,
But it definitely isn't the GT4 X-Bow;

Simming an F1 car can be so much work,
Each time it oversteers, the steering gets a jerk,
What's my next piece of sim gear, who really knows,
So with that said, I'll bring this poem to a close;

May your new sim gear be clean as a whistle,
May your car on track be fast as a missile.
May your holiday sim racing be full of delight,
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

Good old Santa with his helpers.

That was the Real-Time Racing game with a mod made by @Günthar Rowe

Massive reindeer farts on the up- and downshifts of Santa's ride. Legendary!
so, my memory was way more hazy, but then again I didn't upload it after many many posts saying there would be a "very interesting new car" for the game before Christmas. best sim-prank ever :)

Cracked open the eggnog early . Merry christmas.
What do you mean early? He just did what we germans do.......start celebrating on the 24st! (Including getting presents!) ;)

Merry Christmas, you lot! ;)

@RandomMallard Well, not quite per se in my case, but helpful........my mum, bless her, was "I didn't know what to get you...it's all so specialized and hard to get*" so I got a book, two shirts.......and 150 Euros with which I should buy me something I want.

Me last night: Well that 34-inch 21:9 144hz Monitor I want is availlable, two left.........and it's 369 Euros instead of 416....put it in the shopping cart .....oh it's 23:56 (11:56PM)....let's wait 4 more minutes, for midnight shopping (postage waived)........00:01 Klick! :roflmao: :p

Check back 15 minutes later, the Monitor is priced at 412 Euros again.....phew!

Check back again an hour later, as my friends asked about that shop.....it's back at 369.

The other gifts were not simracing related, but my Sis and brother in law really gave me some good stuff, the 1:72 Revell F4U-4 Corsair and resin wheels (landbased and carrier based) for the F4U-1A and F6F-5 Hellcat in my stash. Last year they were both MVPs for getting me that Eduard 1:48 Hawker Tempest last year that I'm still working on. This year's MVP...mum! ;)

*most stuff on my wishlist was scale modelling or PC Hardware related, and since there are no hobbyshops in our town, kinda hard to get for an old lady.

P.S. Yes we do feel blessed for having her.

Saw this late, but loved it! Hoping everybody enjoyed a Merry Christmas and got nice simracing gifts.
