The year is slowly coming to an end. 2022 has been a year of many ups and downs. Both overall and in sim racing. So let's take a look back at what everyone's year has been like. Today, we're asking the question: What's your most played sim in 2022?

DISCLAIMER:
Before anyone complains, this is a large list. It includes some titles that may not be considered "hardcore sims". But that doesn't matter. We are all racing fans at heart. So let's stay united.

With that disclaimer out of the way, let me tell you a bit about my personal sim racing experiences this year.

I have come to the conclusion that my time spent on the rig has decreased compared to 2020 and 2021. Out of the games I played this year, RaceRoom takes the crown. But I have barely touched it in the 2nd half of the year. The reason is simple: the league I raced in now switched to ACC.

Therefore, my 2nd most played sim is ACC since that switch. And there I have been mostly streaming the races. So all of my ACC "seat time" is actually commentating time.

rFactor 2 is 3rd on my list of sims. And the playtime was almost exclusively in Q1 of 2022.

Personally, I just hope I get a bit more free time in 2023 to do what I love once again: Racing.

What have your experiences been this year? Tell us a bit about your sim racing story in 2022 in the comments below!

Actually, my comment was more geared towards AC fanatics that see no faults in the game and defend it like there is no tomorrow while game as such is having major flaws and basically not supported by devs anymore (which is fine, I hope AC2 is coming soon).

Fringe Group:
A group that is on the periphery of a larger organization because its views are more extreme than the majority.

Never understood anyone trashing any part of an industry that supports your hobby, no matter your allegiances, personal feelings or opinions.

Rather be happy for the people find joy in something you can't. :coffee:

All these fancy numbers from steam and recorded on line sessions mean zip in the real world,
I'm sure that many more folk just fire up a race game (perhaps one of those mentioned, perhaps not) and have a play, this is supported by the fact that 80% of GT7 players don't play Multiplayer (but are recorded being that it has to be connected) and not all folks play GT7, and not everyone in the world loves steam, personally, I abhor it.
But the question was aimed at the members of this site and not steam, so really how popular anything is on steam is irrelevant.

There, that's sent the bees into the worm can
GTR2 rulz
i'm with you on GTR2... it's a real gem.

actually most time was spent on a sim not listed here, GTR2... i know the graphics can't compare to the newer generation of sims, but the car physics and driving qualities still make it a blast to play. especially with the anniversary patch and CC!

close second is AC. no comment on AMS2 or ACC ;-]

Hi most played not on your list
1 Power and Glory
2 GTR2
3 rFactor 1
Then Assetto Corsa and Automobilista 1
Heya Roguk,
Several pages ago I called Julian up as to why the older Simbin titles were'nt on his list and it appears that he forgot and are seemingly not that important, though there are a few dozen posts here that allude to them... and a batch recently.

BTW are you the famous rogUK in the Dimitar Dulichki GTL sim race vids?

Thought I was near the only person on Planet Earth following the Turbo Racing YT channel and enjoying all content from there immensely.
Deserves at least 100x subs! :inlove:
Dimitar seems such a personable guy with my sort of pace driving, I often pick up one of his race vids from Evolution modding.

Hi quote (BTW are you the famous rogUK in the Dimitar Dulichki GTL sim race vids?) raced GTL online for a number of years with UKGTL and Dimitar, but have not raced online for nearly a year and when i did i was mostly at the back of the pack so this must be another rogUK.

RBR is my most played, Specifically RallySimFans which is the Hungarian version. it has close to 500 stages and all car classes and is free and is a all in one RBR installer and sim! it can be had here https://rallysimfans.hu/rbr/download.php?download=rsfrbr
How much disk space does an installation occupy?
Edit oops: (from installation instructions)
The download size is about 15 GB.
When extracted, the game takes about 90-100 GB of space.

When the interweb finds you there's no hiding!

Thank you for this poll, so after almost 2 weeks of voting, with 2400 votes, AC is clearly ahead, no surprise there, as it should be when seeing the daily players peaks.
Tied in second is ACC and AMS2, surprised AMS2 is there, pleasantly surprised, as it is quite a nice package overall but not that many daily peak players according to steam charts,
ACC with its narrow focused and limited content, deserve also a cheer, where would it be with a more diverse content offering? Who knows, maybe on par with AC.
Kunos, gather the majority of most played, 55%, that is also impressive, they must be doing something right.:)
