1.1 patch doesn't let GTR2 open

(yes im aware that im posting alot bc im having problems) After downloading 1.1 patch, the GTR2 game just, gave up and doesn't open anymore.

My memory may be playing tricks here, and it's so long ago but I seem to think there were two 1.1 patches but only one worked. One was a European and the other I think was USA, so make sure you have the right one.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
