Ive been watching a lot of race replays from yesteryear lately and I've come to a conclusion on what I'd do with a magic wand:
1) Tell Pirelli to make the best tires they can. Two slick compounds would be fine (hard and soft). Keep the intermediates and wets, those are fine.
2) Bring back refueling.
Essentially I am choosing to swap the primary strategy driver from tires (which strikes me as incredibly artificial and uncompelling) back to fuel load. There are SO many layers to fuel strategy , it's incredibly engaging to watch. I can't believe how much in race speculation fuel strategy created.
Make these 2 changes alone and see what happens - I have a strong suspicion the results would be great. Hell, you can even keep DRS (though if I thought the wand could pull it off, I'd zap DRS, too).
