2020 Mercedes AMG GT3 @ Road America

So I found this 2020 Mercedes AMG GT3 over on Assettol*nd, badged as a "ks_mercedes_amg_gt3_2020." The "ks" prefix would suggest that this is an official Kunos release, but, alas, it is not. It is, however, a very nice iteration of the latterday 300SL, even if it does have a plenitude of gear choices (my understanding of this year's GT3 rules are that you have to settle for fixed ratios). I'm not complaining, mind you (the more gears the merrier, I say), and the car itself is very easy to set up and drive and it has a pleasant exhaust 'note.' Ten-lap setup for LilSki's Road America.

Edit: Also over on Assettol*and, I found a car badged as a "mercedes_amg_gts_vln" (for the well-known 24-hour race) concept car. It seems much the same as the car above, right down to the exact same setup values. Applying the setup for the car above, the VLM concept turned about the same lap times, but it's not quite as nice. There are only a couple of low-rez skins and the sfx aren't as crisp. Confusing, innit?

Why I test at Elkhart Lake. 1. It doesn't have any stupidly slow hairpins or chicanes, which interfere with repeatability; at least the way I drive. Spa would be ideal if it weren't for that ugly, contorted chicane at the end of the lap. 2. The Carousel. Unlike the Nordschleife's Karusel (tight and lumpy), RA's Carousel is the closest thing you'll find to a high-speed, steady-state skid pad (or 'pan' as they call it in Blighty). It will give you an indication of absolute grip, with numbers you can compare, car-to-car and setup-to-setup (anything below 100 mph = pokey; anything over = speedy). 3. The Kink. The scariest turn in North America. Little cars will barely notice it, but big cars will make or break a lap-time depending on whether or not your setup will allow you to take it flat out.
