3D model LODs

Hello all!

I have some Assetto Corsa cars that do not have LODs so they really cut down my fps count in the starts compared to the Kunos cars, since I don't have 3DSmax or any other 3d development software, I am stuck, is there anyone who could help me?

Short answer: No.

Long and harsh answer: The one who has created the 3D models has to create the LOD models. While it might be possible to export kn5 files to editable formats, it's a LOT of work and I bet no one is willing to do it. Also they would not be allowed to share the models afterwards in public places. Even if they did it only for you, why would they?

I'm afraid the you have only two options:
1) Don't use those cars (or less of them)
2) Get better hardware components

Most of the car models that have no LODs are rips with bad physics. If you want to make LODs yourself, use 3dSimEd to extract the models and 3D-Coat to edit the mesh https://store.steampowered.com/app/100980/3DCoat_V48/

You can download the 3DS Max 30 day free trial. The quickest way in 3DS Max which might give you decent results is to put a MultRes modifier on different parts of the mesh then click generate and reduce the vert percentage for your different LOD’s.
